Toronto Everyday Museum
Toronto Everyday Museum (TEM) is the only museum where public involvement and participation plays a mandatory role in the curation process of all exhibits and galleries. Over 100 billion people have lived on this earth yet only a sliver of these people are represented in today's museums. Curation is often done by a select few individuals, their selections catering to the wealthy and ethnic majorities. Why do only a handful of people get to decide what makes history? And how are our perceptions of the past shaped by their decisions?
TEM was conceptualized as a way to challenge museum standards and ensure that all voices of all demographics are heard as a way to more accurately represent history.
